Cecilia Zilliacus studied at the Stockholm Royal College of Music, where she was awarded a soloist diploma. 1997 was an important career year for her, when she won both the Trondheim Soloist Award and the Stockholm Royal Academy of Music Biennial Soloist Competition, and was the Swedish Radio Artist in residence.

Since then she has become firmly established as one of the front runners among the exciting, new soloists. During the 2001/02 season, she participated in the international collaboration known as Rising Stars, which gave her the opportunity to play in major music metropolises all over the world, including Amsterdam with the Concertgebouw and New York, at Carnegie Hall.
